Frieze London Art Fair

I had the opportunity to work at frieze art fair this year, which takes place in London's Regents park in October of every year. I had the chance to discover many new artisits and also get the chance to see the famous works of artists such as Damien Hurst and Tomas Saranceno

A Place Called Home - London Design Festival 2014

I visited Londons design festivals exhibition 'A place Called Home' which consisted of four identical structures containing the ideas of four British designers and studios. Designers such as Jasper Morrinson and Ilse Crawford installed their interpretations of what 'home' is inside house shaped pavilions in London/s Trafalgar Square.

This was a really interesting exhibition to visit as each designer created a space that the public could interact with as well as incorporating every day peoples views and feeling towards the idea of home.

Reel Case

I was then introduced to the next project 'Reel Case'. Which was the chance to, as a part of a group, come up with an idea that relates our current work that is made into something that fills a space in Bower Ashton.

Our chosen space

We looked at the ideas of what 'collage' was to us, and came to the final ideas of;
thread, suspension, line, paper, shadow, light and wood.

We then sketched a few ideas and thought of how we could develop these ideas into something that reflected our work.

We then had to create a box that fits exactly inside the space as our design required us to damage the surface of the space

After we had successfully created the inside, we began to develop our idea

Once we were happy with how it worked, we installed it into the space.

We were really happy with the way the shadows worked within the space.

Linear Collage

I then produced a final outcome to the drawings which was a little building made from match sticks, which I then set on fire to see how it would change and the linear qualities of the collage would develop.

Introduction to Interior Design

I was set a brief to explore and investigate through pattern the theme inside/outside. I questioned what pattern meant to me and what inside/outside also meant.

I then used the mediums of drawing and collage to produce 100 A5 linear compositions, using different materials such as charcoal, pencil, markers of various weights. The idea of this was to draw the surrounding place, Bristol, quickly focusing on the lines naturally created in the subject.

I then created 10 A3 drawings generated from the 100 A5
